Residents

The organisers of the 2019 Legend Fires North West Stages are extremely grateful for the support of the residents who are affected by the road closures necessary to enable the rally to take place. This includes those who live or work on the actual competitive sections (the special stages) and those who live on roads adjacent to the special stages where it is necessary to restrict access for the general public.

All residents on the route have received letters and visits from members of the organising team over the past six months and have been kept up to date with plans for the event. Before the rally they will all have received Resident Packs, which include contact details for the Rally Control and their Resident Liaison Officer, an event overview, property access procedures and a comprehensive Q&A section.

The event has received entries from drivers and cars from across the UK and there will be substantial interest from motorsport enthusiasts. Consequently, in order to minimise disruption, the organisers have planned several spectator areas to allow the rally to be enjoyed in safety. These spectator areas will be managed by experienced motorsport marshals and spectators are not permitted outside of the defined areas.

The event aims to raise a substantial amount of money for local charities and the main benefactors from the 2019 event will be North West Air Ambulance and Derian House Children’s Hospice.

Wyre District Council and Lancashire County Council have issued Road Closure, Clearway, Public Footpath Closure and Motor Race Orders and the event is run with their full support along with support from local councils, parish councils, emergency services and local residents.

The organisers have been in direct contact with the Emergency Services and detailed plans are in place in terms of diversion routes and procedures to cease competition and open roads for emergency services in the event that access is required.

The organisers sincerely hope that you will be able to enjoy the spectacle of closed road rallying without too much inconvenience. So, once again, a very big thankyou to all the residents, councils, local businesses and the local community in general, for what, overall has been an overwhelming show of support for this exciting new event to the area.
